President Trump took a few moments to ignore the fake news mainstream media and do something while no one was looking. President Trump and Vice President Pence took special notice of letter that was sent to them from a Christian pastor who has been locked up in prison in Turkey.
The pastor, Andrew Brunson, was sent to a Turkish prison because the government there linked him to possible terrorism charges. They think Pastor Brunson may have ties to an alleged terrorist named Fethullah Gulen. Gulen is a Muslim in America, and sources believe that the Turkish government is using Pastor Brunson as a bargaining chip to get their hands on Gulen. The Turkish folks aren’t very happy with the Muslim and claim he’s a terrorist.
Sounds like an even trade, right? But what are the reasons that America wouldn’t hand over someone that another country has labeled a terrorist? Is there any evidence linking Gulen to attacks or plots to attack? What does the Turkish government want out of Gulen? They’re not getting much out of the American Pastor. Is America getting anything out of the Muslim? If this is not an instant trade, then one has to wonder why not? What’s the deeper story here?
Regardless of what happens with the potential trade of alleged terrorists, it’s just nice to know that President Trump received the letter from Brunson and responded to it.
When Trump spoke with the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Trump mentioned Brunson several times to help get the North Carolina native set free.
Will Erdogan drop the lock and set Brunson free? Or will he successfully negotiate a trade for Gulen?
President Trump spent much of his time in a White House meeting on Tuesday pressuring Turkey’s president to return an American pastor jailed on bogus charges in the country.
“President Trump raised the incarceration of Pastor Andrew Brunson and asked that the Turkish Government expeditiously return him to the United States,” the White House said in a press release following Trump’s meeting with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Brunson, a North Carolina native, has been in jail in Turkey since October.
Brunson and his wife were initially detained for visa-related issues. But Brunson was held longer, and charges against him were upgraded to a vague terrorism rap.
Held longer due to being a negotiating point in hopes to trade for Gulen? Or held longer because Brunson is a legitimate terrorist disguised as a Pastor? What do we know? In this day and age, nothing shocks us anymore, and anything can be true.
The Turkish judiciary has provided little information about the charges against Brunson, who has lived in Turkey for 23 years and operated a small Christian church with his wife.
There have been some reports that Brunson is accused of being a supporter of Fethullah Gulen, a U.S.-based Muslim cleric who the Turkish government alleges is a terrorist. Erdogan’s regime has arrested tens of thousands of people in Turkey based on questionable allegations of having ties to Gulen.
Little information because they have no information to give? What do they mean when they say “questionable allegations?” Are these allegations and ties barely there? Are they filled with horrible crimes in the works? Are they fake news?
Jay Sekulow, the chief counsel for the American Center for Law and Justice, said Tuesday that Trump and Vice President Mike Pence brought up the Brunson case three times during the meeting with Erodgan.
Trump and Pence spend time trying to get a Pastor out of prison. Obama spent time getting a tranny traitor out of prison, then allowing him to milk the taxpayers for his health issues and benefits.
I would rather have my taxes help pay to fly Brunson home to North Carolina than to spend any money on a sex change operation on a tranny traitor who leaked information.
What should USA and Turkey do? Should they make a fair trade? Or should they create a list of benefits to holding onto each other’s person of interest? If Brunson truly has no crimes or connections to terrorism, then what? Should America demand that Turkey frees the man or should America send Gulen to Turkey?
If you were the person who made the decision, then what would you do?
