(Conservative Tribune) There’s fantastic news coming out of Georgia for all of us who are sick and tired of seeing our hard-earned dollars support those who take pride in milking the welfare system for as much free food, rent and utilities as possible.
House Budget Committee Chairman Tom Price, R-Ga., has reported that his ambitious spending plan will counteract the massive drain on taxpayer dollars known as the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program.
His plan includes cutting a staggering $125 billion from SNAP over a period of 10 years, booting 11 million welfare leeches off the list of beneficiaries.
Not only will it eliminate millions of people from the welfare rolls who are perfectly capable of finding jobs and earning money like the rest of us do, but it will also drop monthly benefits to those who still qualify by $55 per month — adding up to huge savings.
The bill will have to fight its way through liberal Democrats who only cater to the welfare crowd for votes and then be signed by President Barack Obama, which will prove to be another battle since it also contains language that will begin repealing Obamacare — but it’s a start.
Obviously, something needs to be done about the endless spending the Obama White House continues to plague our country with.
As far as criteria for getting kicked off the “free stuff” list, each state will have to determine its own methods, but since Price is aiming to have SNAP become a “block grant,” it would set a limit on total available SNAP funds that would be doled out to each state, leaving them in charge of how to distribute what’s available (H/T Mad World).
