Melania Trump has quietly impressed with her duties as First Lady, which have kept her more busy lately than in the first few months of her husband’s presidency. She used to spend the majority of her time in New York with her 11-year-old son Barron so he could finish his school year, but has been in Washington, D.C. more recently preparing for her and Barron’s official move in the next few weeks.
Although we’ve seen more of Melania, she was strangely out of the public eye for much of Friday. This was just two days after her child had been viciously attacked and also while President Donald Trump was at the NRA meeting in Atlanta, Georgia. Now we know the important reason she was there and also why it was mostly kept under wraps.
Among the many respected qualities in our current First Lady is that she’s intentionally reserved and doesn’t try to demand respect and claim attention in being overbearing. Her actions speak much louder than the slander the left constantly throws at her and her family, which proves her to be a powerful leader in her own right, and an incredible mother. After spending the entire day at the hospital while a hateful liberal celebrity publicly trashed her child, it’s clear what kind of a person Melania really is.
Rather than concerning herself with the disgusting things being said by an irrelevant comedian who stooped so low as dedicate her entire show to trashing a child, Melania proved what a real woman with compassion and purpose looks like. She gave her entire day and all of her attention to sick kids facing far bigger issues at Children’s National Hospital in D.C. There was little public documentation of her attendance at the opening ceremony for the Bunny Mellon Healing garden, since her compassion doesn’t fit with the liberal narrative they relentless push about her.
The dichotomy between the brutal mistreatment of her son by supposedly “bleeding heart” liberals and Melania’s love being poured out to kids she’s never met before, was not lost on anyone but the left.
The Gateway Pundit pointed out that “First Lady, Melania Trump exuded warmth and class as she sat with a group of children who are staying at Children’s National Hospital. She colored and drew pictures with them following a ribbon cutting ceremony.”
The Associated Press reports:
“Kids being treated at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington now have a new way to forget about their troubles. They get to go outside.”
“A new healing garden at the hospital opens Friday. It was inspired by a patient whose dying wish was to go outside. The hospital was able to grant that wish and then committed to making it easier for patients to get fresh air.”
“The garden is dedicated to the first ladies of the United States. All of the living first ladies agreed in 2014 to serve as honorary chairs of the garden, which was built in part with a $5 million donation from the estate of Bunny Mellon, the late Washington philanthropist.”
Although she could have stepped out after the ribbon-cutting and making her appearance there, she decided to stay and spend a substantial amount of time with the kids inside who were too sick to come out, according to the Daily Caller.
Genuine compassion is back in the White House with Melania as our First Lady. She’s an absolutely amazing woman who is grossly underestimated by people who don’t understand the importance of a person like her and the message she delivers with her actions. She leads by her own example of being a loving person who thinks of ways to reach out and help others more than themselves.
She’s made motherhood and family-values popular again after those priorities have been absent in Washington, and around the country, for years. By being able to show love for other kids while hers is attacked, is what “turning the other cheek” looks like and Barron-hating celebrities should feel ashamed.
