Milwaukee is still in uproar after a police officer shot and killed an African American man. That same Milwaukee office is now receiving death threats. Despite the fact video footage shows that the young man who died was pointing a gun at him. Many people on social media have also made derogatory and violent comments about the young 24 year old officer.
The man who killed the African man was also himself African American. But activists have let the story they want to create get in the way of the truth. Now pictures of the police officer are all over the Internet.
Comments such as,
“Now y’all see his face if he’s seen anywhere in the city drop him,” one said.
The Journal Sentinel reported,
“MPD has noted a disturbing national trend where users of social media have identified officers involved in uses of deadly force, threatened the officers and their families, and demonized them. Locally, we are aware of some general threats against our officers. MPD takes these threats seriously and is investigating.”
It is interesting to note the officer knew the deceased man because they went to high school school together. They knew each other from the Sherman Park neighborhood and it is clear they went in very different life directions. Thankfully the officer did not go the route of becoming a criminal.
Fox News found that the deceased had been arrested and cited nine time since 2011. I don’t think anyone could argue that the officer wanted to kill a man he grew up with. That would be crazy. Governor Scott Waller spoke out against the rioting by Black Lifes Matter protestors by saying it was done under the guise of protest.
Hopefully is unfortunate situation can resolve itself soon. As Milwaukee is becoming rapidly more dangerous very quickly.
