It is not surprising that people feel apprehensive about flying after the terror attacks of 9/11. Ever since that tragic day, people across the world worry if their flight could be used in another terrifying attack. Even though there are measures in place to protect the airplanes we travel, there is always a chance a maniac may be onboard. Which is what happened just a couple days ago when a Muslim man threatened to take over a recent flight. However, just before he was able to carry out his dastardly plot a brave man stepped in and thwarted his plan.
The terrifying ordeal took place on Flight 007 from India to London, when a Muslim man began to shout “Muslims will take over Britain!” Of course, the passengers on the plan were petrified, but before anything else could happen a real life, James Bond swung into action. Chris Phillips, a 55-year-old retired head of the British National Counter Terrorism Security Office, jumped from his seat tackling the Muslim, handcuffing and detaining him until the plane could land.
Phillips recounts the harrowing ordeal saying,
“It was chaos. The Muslim passenger was trying to walk to the First Class section of the plane. He was shouting obscenities and it was a frightening scene. He was fighting with a male member of cabin crew. They were rolling on the floor then slamming against the aircraft door. It was terrifying to watch them roll into the aircraft exit at 30,000ft. Women and children were screaming. It was very upsetting.”

Thankfully, Phillips was onboard this flight before this Mulsim could carry out any plans he had.
This is just another example of how rabid these people are and why extreme vetting needs to take place. According to passengers on the flight, the Muslim man looked nothing out of the ordinary. There is no way to be sure who is a potential threat or not unless we stop with the political correctness and get back to common sense.
All I can say at this point is bravo to Phillips, and I am so glad he was onboard. There is no telling how many lives he saved due to his quick thinking.
