Sometimes it is time to take your chips and go home. But a now disgraced Olympian did not learn that lesson in school. The woman we are speaking of is Ibtihaj Muhammad who made history as the first woman to wear a hijab while participating in the Olympics. As well as the first Muslim American to medal.
She is a fencer who won the bronze in the Team Sabre competition in Rio last summer. At a recent speaking engagement, she revealed she hadn’t been detained for a period of two hours while traveling by U.S. Customs.
Furthermore, she denounced the President and his recent executive order on immigration. She was at the MAKERS Conference in Ranchos Palos Verdes, California. But her comments just don’t add up. She said the following,
“I personally was held at Customs for two hours just a few weeks ago. I don’t know why. I can’t tell you why it happened to me, but I know that I’m Muslim. I have an Arabic name. And even though I represent Team USA and I have that Olympic hardware, it doesn’t change how you look and how people perceive you. Unfortunately, I know that people talk about this having a lot to do with these seven countries in particular, but I think the net is cast a little bit wider than we know. And I’m included in that as a Muslim woman who wears a hijab.”
However, the timeline of events seems to show that any detainment that might have happened occurred prior to the executive order. Which would make her comments null and void as she tried to say it was the executive order that caused her to be mistreated.
“It’s really hard. My human response is to cry because I was so sad and upset and disheartened — and just disappointed. At the same time, I’m one of those people who feels like I have to be strong for those people who may not be able to find that strength.
I feel like I have to speak up for those people whose voices go unheard. It was a really hard two hours, but at the same time, I made it home. I try to remember to be positive and to try to leave all these situations, even if they may be very difficult, with love. I think that we will come out on top as women, as people of color, as Muslims, as transgender people, as people who are part of the disabled community — I think that we’ll come out on top.”
Of course, Trump’s response to those who may have been inconvenienced during the roll-out of the temporary ban is priceless. It’s his duty as president to keep Americans safe. The stay on his temporary immigration ban… is temporary. Word is that his administration will rewrite the executive order and implement it anew. President Trump doesn’t care about whiny libs getting all emotional, he cares about keeping Americans safe from radical Islamic terror. Which is good for us!
As for Ibtihaj Muhammad, if you look for something long enough eventually you will find it. Clearly, she’s searching for something else in order to remain relevant.
Go Trump, Go! The hell with these sniveling snowflake libtard losers!
