Refugee Muslim migrants got a cold hard slap of American reality when they found out that Sharia law has no place in our country. Over 200 Muslim employees stormed out of their job at a Colorado facility because they weren’t given enough prayer breaks at work. They weren’t marching out because they were mad and trying to protest. What happened is even more harrowing. The boss FIRED ALL of them.
My thought is that the employees probably had the normal amount of breaks, but then they requested MORE breaks to accommodate their religion. And unless this is a church, then the religion and place of employment don’t really have any connection, nor need to accommodate each other. When the Muslims requested more breaks and threw a fit over being denied, then they ended up getting fired. If someone has more breaks than another employee who works the same hours, then how is that fair to the people who are not Muslim? It’s not. Therefore, no extra breaks just because you’re a certain religion. Why can’t they pray at home before or after work?
Refusing to give in, the plant bosses fired over 190 Muslim employees who walked out, instead choosing to find less demanding workers. They had previously tried to negotiate with the Muslims, telling them they could pray during their allotted breaks like any other employee and even creating a room of reflection where they allowed people of all faiths to pray on their own time.
Adios. See ya later. Someone else will take the job and work harder for the same amount of money and fewer breaks. I don’t agree with giving breaks for a particular religion because it’s not the job’s job to make sure you’re happy with your amount of breaks. Every job should provide ample break times for employees to remain happy, but you can’t demand extra just because of your religion. I’m all in favor of keeping employees happy as long as the job is done and the work is quality. Maybe if the people are working 12-hour shifts, then they can have five breaks. You work a long day, then you deserve a few good breaks. Every employee needs a good half hour to sit down and relax, rejuvenate, and go back to their job. If the work is physically demanding, then I’d want workers to have at least 45 minutes to an hour. Hard work deserves breaks. However, demanding more breaks JUST for your religion and refusing to work until your demands are met? Take a hike.
The Muslims refused this, however, saying they would not return to work until each of their demands were met exactly. Since being fired, many of the stunned Muslims have begged for their jobs back, but the company isn’t having any of it. With many Americans desperate for jobs, the company has chosen to look elsewhere instead of working with these demanding refugees again.
We see how that turned out. Now you all can march to the unemployment line. Oh wait, that’s right! They were probably fired for walking out on the job. That means they probably can’t collect unemployment and leech our system for free taxpayer benefits.
While I do think America works it’s employees way too hard in most jobs and that most employers truly don’t value their employees as human beings. I certainly don’t agree with walking out on the job because you want more breaks than other workers simply because of your religion.
They weren’t hired for a religious job, so there’s literally no connection between the job and the Muslim’s need for extra breaks.
