From the Conservative Tribune: Insensitivity comes in all shapes and sizes. We’ve reported about bullies, evil criminals and generally mean people before and, while it shouldn’t be shocking anymore, it’s still amazing how some people seem to look for any reason to show how cold-hearted they are.
Such was the case when a woman with lupus was attacked for using a handicapped parking spot. When the woman found a note shaming her for using the spot, she was speechless.
The note read, “You should be ashamed!! “When you take a handicap spot an actual disabled person suffers. You were not raised as you should have been.”
When the woman’s mother found out about the note, she decided to take the matter to social media, where she garnered plenty of support.
On her Facebook page, she addressed the insensitive person, noting had the person taken a moment to talk to her daughter, she would have known right away she had a disease (H/T Opposing Views).
The mother took the time to explain her daughter’s plight, adding how the disease caused her daughter to suffer from hair loss, skin rashes and severe muscle pain.
She added that the medications her daughter took made her weak and sick to her stomach.
“Many people suffer with these ‘GHOST’ diseases which you can’t see but are just as bad as a physical disability. People die of depression, but we can’t see that,” the mother wrote.
She concluded the note with a plea that most mature individuals understand: Please don’t judge a book by its cover!
Read the note for yourself:
This is great advice — especially in the digital age in where it’s just as easy to leave an anonymous note on someone’s car as it is to attack someone online.
Reactions on social media sum up how most of the population feels about how these kinds of attacks — disgust at the notewriter’s insensitivity.
