Excerpted from Mad World News: The Air Force has recently released a new commercial that is rather inspiring, featuring fantastic speeches from multiple presidents. Yet one is curiously missing from the sound bites. Care to take a guess who?
Well, if you are still left scratching your head in wonder, the answer is Barack Obama. In the 30 second commercial, four presidents are spotlighted using excerpts of uplifting speeches about this crucial branch of America’s military. However, the current Commander-in-Chief is not one of them.
Could this be a slight oversight or could it be that they could not find a speech from Obama that would inspire new recruits? Is it possible Obama does not have a single line that could be used in which he talks about our military’s might in a positive or inspiring way?
Whether the omission was intentional is debatable, but I am going to go out on a limb here and say, I am sure excerpts from his “Apology Tour” wouldn’t exactly inspire anyone to sign up. I’d love to hear your take on it in the comments below! What say you?
Times change. Technology changes. But the one thing that hasn’t changed is the Air Force’s call to Aim High. It is as true today as it was 20, 30, even 50 years ago. Whether in the skies above or on the ground below, American Airmen are breaking barriers every day.
