Should foreign countries be allowed to plan attacks on the United States and get away with it just because they sell us oil & have large amounts of our treasuries & equities? Duh, of course not. Apparently that’s what the Obama administration believes, though.
The NY Times reported that White House officials have been calling members of Congress, urging them to vote against the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA) because Saudi Arabia threatened to sell $750 billion in US assets if they held the country liable for the 9-11 attacks. Sure seems like a smoking gun to me.
Fox News commentators the other night stated that it’s highly unlikely that the then Saudi king, King Fahd, or other high level Saudi officials knew anything about possible Saudi involvement in the planning of the 9-11 attacks. They believe that mid-levels officials could have been involved, though.
If there were Saudi officials involved, we need to know who it was, and they must be brought to justice. And justice for planning the deaths of almost 3000 Americans in my opinion would be beheading. Or hanging. Or beating them with baseball bats, then hanging them, then beheading them.
As for the $750 billion in assets the Saudis are threatening to sell, some economists doubt they possess nearly that much as they explain on the financial blog Zero Hedge.
It doesn’t matter how much oil a country sells us, our how many assets of ours they own, if any nation was involved in the planning of the 9-11 attacks, they must be brought to justice. The blood of thousands of Americans demands it.

New evidence links the Saudi government to 9/11 terrorist attack: Flight certificate of a would-be bomber found in embassy envelope buried underground In Embassy as Obama visits the Gulf state.
In its report covering the still-censored “28 pages” implicating the Saudi government in 9/11, “60 Minutes” said the Saudi role in the attacks has been “soft-pedaled” to protect America’s delicate alliance with the oil-rich kingdom.
Some sources claim the kingdom’s involvement was deliberately covered up at the highest levels of our government, and that the coverup goes beyond sealing the 28 pages of the Saudi report in a vault in the US Capitol basement.
Investigators say the Joint Terrorism Task Forces in Washington and San Diego, the forward operating base for some of the Saudi hijackers, as well as detectives at the Fairfax County (Va.) Police Department who also investigated several 9/11 leads, say virtually every road led back to the Saudi Embassy in Washington, as well as the Saudi Consulate in Los Angeles.
According to the Daily Mail, officials have revealed that the flight certificate of Al-Qaeda bomb maker Ghassan Al-Sharbi was discovered hidden in an envelope from the Saudi embassy in Washington when they arrested him in 2002.
Al-Sharbi is believed to have learned how to fly with the hijackers but did not take part in the attacks. Shortly before his arrest, he buried a bundle of documents, which is believed to have included the certificate.
The cache was discovered by US authorities and details, of the memo, known as Document 17, were released in 2003, without much notice. They were only brought to the public’s attention when an activist discovered them and revealed his find on a website earlier this week.
Activist Brian McGlinchey said: ‘The envelope points to the fundamental question hanging over us today: to what extent was the 9/11 plot facilitated by individuals at the highest levels of the Saudi government?’
The release has fueled concerns the Saudi government may have been linked to the coordinated attacks which killed nearly 3,000 people.
One senator earlier stated that Obama would make a decision on whether the papers, which are expected to expose Saudi’s connection to the attacks, would be released within 60 days.
There have long been suspicions about the Saudi’s involvement in the attacks, where hijackers took control of four passenger jets and crash them into the World Trade Center towers in New York, the Pentagon and a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
Fifteen of the 19 terrorist hijackers were Saudi and Osama bin Laden, who devised the terrorist attack and was the head of Al-Qaeda before he was killed in 2011, was the son of a billionaire with close ties to the country’s royal family.
