Over the past several years we have seen a rise in anti-police sentiment across the country. There have always been clashes between the police and civilians but not to the extent we see today. Barack Hussein Obama seemed to create more division between the people. Instead of Obama uniting the country as Americans he seemed to only divide everyone by race, gender, and sexuality.
Then on August 9, 2014, there was the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. This case is what really brought race relations between the black community and police officers to blows. The Black Lives Matter movement took hold and everyone in the country that had light skin was suddenly the enemy. The Black Lives Matter group began to protest and riot saying that cops were racist killers.
Instead of Obama calming the civil unrest that was only growing throughout the country he ignored it. From there the hatred for the police only grew stronger and before long celebrities had joined the ranks of cop hatred. Sadly, it only continues to grow and even though we have President Trump in office that is supportive of the police, it will take some time to fix what has been broken.
That is evident by what happened to law enforcement officials in a fast food joint over this past weekend. In Raleigh, North Carolina some police officers decided to stop for a bite to eat. They saw a message by the drive-thru at Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q says that it’s “grateful to serve.” Instead of being treated with any respect they were treated with absolute disrespect and disdain.
It has been reported that when the police officers sat down to eat in the restaurant they were harassed.
“Thank you Smithfield’s Chicken & barbeque Jones Sausage location for the class and professionalism as you sang “F the Police” as my brothers at Raleigh Police Department attempted to eat at your restaurant. The manager sang along as well. Do you really feel that was appropriate?”
Here is the Facebook post:
This just truly turns my stomach to see such a thing happen to these police offices.
Here is more from ABC 11:
The post claims employees of the restaurant were singing NWA’s song “F— the Police” as they ate.
The post has gone viral and has been shared more than 2,000 times.
“Police officers go out there every day and they risk their lives and to be treated with such disrespect is truly unfortunate,” Rick Armstrong with RPPA said.
The union found out about the incident after a fellow police officer posted about it.
Officers are calling for the employees to be disciplined.
“Suspension and/or including termination,” Armstrong said.
Within hours of the union’s post, the franchise owner responded by saying:
“We will do a thorough investigation and terminate anyone employed that doesn’t share our respect of all law enforcement.”
“We do appreciate his quick response and we’re going to have to wait and see what he does, and hopefully, he follows up with appropriate action on these employees,” Armstrong said.
Several police officers and members of the community are rallying around this incident.
Within hours of the initial post from the Raleigh Police Protective Association the franchise owner, David Harris had this to say.
Which brings us to the latest post that was written on the Raleigh Police Protective Association.
This is exactly what happens when respect is not taught anymore. This is their place of employment and not a place to make their absurd political protests at. It just seems to me that they are slightly misguided over who they just pissed off.
For instance, if these people are robbed or are facing any sort of danger, who will they call? If you guessed the police, you are 100% correct. It seems to me that they are just fine with disrespecting police officers, but who will they call when they need help. I guess I am not the only one who this either.
I am glad to see so many speaking out and putting this ungrateful little jerks back into their place.
America is as divided as ever and this public display is an example of why the police do not feel safe anymore. If these officers cannot sit and enjoy a meal in peace without being harassed how safe can they feel in their own car?
I truly hope that these workers are reprimanded or fired. This sort of behavior cannot continue on in this manner, and respect must be taught again.
