For years, North Korea and its leader Kim Jong-Un have been causing issues for everyone. We are all aware that something is going on over there but not exactly sure what. Now, new satellite images have revealed from this communist country something rather disturbing. Over the past few weeks, there has been an increase of activity on North Korea’s nuclear site. The new images that have been taken show that they are “primed and ready” for a nuclear test.
What is even more frightening about this is that it seems to coincide with North Korea’s “Day of the Sun” holiday. This past Wednesday, 38 North reported that images showed unusually high activity on the nuclear site over the past month.
What is so important about April 15 is that commemorates North Korea’s founding president, Kim Il Sung. The North Korean regime also warned foreign journalists to prepare for a “big event” that day.
This does not bode well considering that tensions between President Trump and North Korea are on the rise. Tensions have remained that way since Trump sent a U.S. Navy strike group steaming toward the Korean Peninsula.
So, on April 2, when satellite images showed increased levels of activity around the “North Portal” there was a concern. This is the area where the most recent nuclear tests have occurred in the past which is why these images are important.
Here are some of the satellite images taken by 38 North.
At the North Portal, what appears to be a small vehicle or trailer is located immediately outside the entrance; the water flow out of the portal has diminished in the past 10 days; and what may be a small trailer is visible on the road south of the portal. The netting—suspended over probable equipment—south of the portal’s support building remains in place, and there has been no significant dumping of additional material on the portal’s spoil pile.
What is also highly disturbing is that North Korea may have access to Sarin gas. According to Reuters, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo brought up this very real possibility on Thursday.
“There is a possibility that North Korea already has a capability to deliver missiles with sarin as warheads,” Abe told a parliamentary session.
According to Daily Mail:
South Korea said today it believed it would be consulted by the United States before any possible pre-emptive U.S. strike against Pyongyang.
China urged the North to halt its nuclear programme in exchange for greater protection from Beijing.
An influential state-backed Chinese newspaper said the best option for North Korea and its leader Kim Jong Un was to give up its nuclear ambitions.
‘As soon as North Korea complies with China’s declared advice and suspends nuclear activities … China will actively work to protect the security of a denuclearised North Korean nation and regime,’ said an editorial in the Global Times, which is published by the Communist party’s People’s Daily.
Yesterday, Chinese President Xi Jinping called for a peaceful resolution to the North Korean problem in a telephone conversation with President Trump on Wednesday.
Well, while Kim Jong-Un may plan to unleash hell he may need to rethink his actions. If this little dictator was wise he would pay attention to what happened in Syria last week, and in Afghanistan yesterday. Trump is not messing around and will retaliate if we need to. The days of sitting back are behind us and we are pushing back hard.
