The crazy year of being politically correct and offended by everything continues with this jibber-jabber from Obama. He wants to make the “Don’t Tread on Me” slogan from the Gadsden Flag a “punishable harassment” and I think that’s ridiculous.
It’s a flag that originated in what, the 1700’s and was used primarily by the Tea Party. It’s not offensive at all. It’s a patriotic flag. Oh, that’s why it’s offensive – because it’s American and patriotic! I get it now. I forgot that Obama likes to dislike everything that’s purely American and patriotic because he sometimes gives us the hint that he secretly hates America. Come on Barry, you need to start loving your country a little bit more. You have a few months left in the office, go out with a party and love your country.
The complainant alleged that the Gadsden Flag, the first Navy Jack, is a “historical indicator of white resentment against blacks stemming largely from the Tea Party.” He added that the Vice President of the International Association of Black Professional Firefighters cited the Gadsden Flag as the equivalent of the Confederate Battle Flag.
Here’s our Navy Jack.
Independent Sentinel – The Gadsden Flag began in the Revolutionary War and it had nothing to do with race. The slogan was non-racial and the Tea Party movement which used the flag had a non-racial agenda. It is often used in patriotic displays.
In 1775, during the American Revolution, the Gadsden Flag was used by the Continental Marines as an early motto flag.
Considered one of the first flags of the United States, the flag was later replaced by the current Stars and Stripes (or Old Glory) flag.
There’s a lot of things we can be offended by in regards to Obama. How about his daughter twerking up a storm at a music fest and showing the bottom part of her donk?
People COULD be offended by that. They shouldn’t be. Anyone offended by a girl dancing at a MUSIC fest should be mentally checked out. She’s young and having fun like everyone else.
Nothing wrong with her having a great time.
Nothing wrong with the “Don’t Tread on Me” flag either.
We need to get our heads right, because this nonsense is getting really old and really lame.
