When tragedy strikes in the form of gun violence the people who pay the highest price, other than those who were killed and their families, are law abiding gun owners. Such is the case with the recent shooting in an Orlando, Florida gay club. Approximately fifty are dead and forty two were transported to the hospital for injuries.
Popular singer Christina Grimmie was recently murdered tragically at one of her concerts. Following her death in June 10th people have taken to social media to blame guns for what happened.
Praying won't help this time but banning guns WILL. #Orlando

Both shootings came shortly after National Gun Violence Awareness Day which was a national campaign hosted by the Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund. High profile celebrities such as Brooke Shields, Russell Simmons, Julianne Moore, and Kim Kardashian supported the campaign by asking their social media followers, fans, and supporters to wear orange.
Lena Dunham of the popular HBO series Girls is a famous supporter of Hillary Clinton and tied in gun restrictions to her support of the presumptive nominee.
“I’m with Hillary because of her plan to quell the gun violence that regularly sends our nation into mass grief. Gun control is a feminist issue—guns are responsible for more intimate partner killings than all other weapons combined, and women are the primary victims of deadly domestic violence. But in 35 American states, the law doesn’t prohibit those convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence from buying guns (or keeping the ones they already have). Hillary has a plan specifically to keep guns out of the hands of domestic abusers,” she said in April to Time Magazine.
One of Clinton’s central campaign themes is gun safety. Bloomberg and Everytown for Gun Safety have endorsed her. The Brady Campaign to End Gun Violence and Americans for Responsible Solutions who all favor rolling back the Second Amendment support Clinton.
Celebrities and liberal politicians never cease to use a tragedy that involves gun violence to politicize it to their benefit urging the public it was a result of gun ownership. Let’s be honest, it’s a result of mentally unstable nut jobs. Surely, President Obama will soon make a statement denouncing the NRA and gun ownership.
Let’s remember something important, guns don’t kill people, people kill people.
