When five police officers were assassinated in Dallas, a nation wept. When three more were taken in Baton Rouge, we fell to our knees. When a police captain was executed in Kansas, it broke our hearts. People all over the country honored the fallen and Governor Greg Abbott of Texas turned the Governor’s mansion blue in remembrance. Obama, however, refused to light the White House up in ceremonial blue for the police officers taken from us. He’s glad to light it up in rainbow colors for militant gays, but when it comes to the thin blue line, he just can’t be bothered to care. What a leader. Just disgraceful.
Michelle Malkin led a group of patriots in front of the White House demanding that they honor our boys in blue who were hunted down and mercilessly murdered out of sheer hatred. They paid tribute to all of the fallen police officers out there during the “BlueLightFriday vigil that called for the White House to go blue. That won’t happen, but it certainly highlights how little Obama cares for the police or for America in general.
From BizPac Review:
A group of conservative gathered in Washington D.C. to do what the president has refused to do. Pay tribute to law enforcement.
Led by conservative author and TV personality Michelle Malkin, NRA News’ Cameron Gray and Salem Radio’s John Cardillo, the group gathered for the #BlueLightFriday vigil to “turn the White House blue.”
While White House press secretary Josh Earnest cited steps the president did take to pay tribute to the nation’s police, he asserted that a blue light display is “not something we plan to do at this point.” This infuriated police across the country and their supporters, just as it should. Michelle Malkin decided that if Obama wouldn’t turn the People’s House blue, then patriots would and thus #BlueLightFriday was born.
“If you are in the D.C. area [Friday] night,” she wrote, “please meet me for #bluelightfriday at the White House at sundown! I’ll be holding vigil for the fallen with my friend, former NYPD officer John Cardillo, and many other retired/active-duty LEOs and friends/families/supporters of LEOs. We’re lighting the White House blue since Obama won’t do it.”
The event was set to begin at 7:45 pm local time at Lafayette Park. “We’ll have blue glow sticks for everyone,” Malkin wrote, “– or bring your own best blue lights and tributes for our fallen.” As participants gathered near the White House, those unable to make the trip began posting their own blue lights as a sign of solidarity. Bagpipes were played and a policeman’s flag was displayed. People all over America shared their tributes and love for our police. Shame on Obama for disrespecting our officers this way.
