In what is either the sending of an intentional message to the Muslim community or the most incompetent display of messaging yet from the Obama administration, the White House announced that the president would be visiting a famed Muslim landmark during an upcoming trip to India.
The announcement came on the heels of President Barack Obama’s refusal to attend last week’s anti-terrorism rally in Paris, or even to send a senior-ranking official in his place.
Obama will visit the majority-Hindu nation for three days, including a visit to the Taj Mahal, widely considered to be one of the finest examples of Muslim architecture in India.
He will be accompanied on his trip by first lady Michelle Obama and “a team of senior officials in his administration,” according to a report from India West cited by Gateway Pundit.
These would be the same senior officials who were too busy to make it to Paris to join the 40 heads of state and other important dignitaries as they marched in support of free speech, one is forced to presume.
This will be the presidential couple’s second visit to India, but the first time they’ve visited the Taj Mahal, which was built by Mughal (think Persian, i.e., Iranian) emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his third wife, according to the report.
So, to sum up: Two weeks after the anti-terrorism march that Obama refused to attend, he will visit one of the world’s best-known Muslim sites.
This is more than just bad judgment. This is a disgrace.
