Barack Obama’s Presidency has been expensive, to say that least. Our national debt is going to top an astonishing $20 trillion by the time he’s out of office, and he’s happy to spend taxpayer money on anything…. including himself.
Obama’s annual Christmas vacation to Hawaii with his family in 2015 cost taxpayers nearly $5 million, according to LawNewz. Trump isn’t even going to be taking a presidential salary while he’s in the Oval Office.
Before he took office, Boeing created a new Air Force One for Barack Obama and they were going to do the same thing for Trump, until he discovered that it came along with a $4 billion price tag. He wasn’t too happy with that.
No President has ever done what he did next. As the Political Insider reported:
President-elect Donald J. Trump has made reining in wasteful government spending one of his top priorities and it appears he has found his latest target: the Department of Defense.
Taking to Twitter Tuesday morning, Trump blasted Boeing’s massive Air Force One contract with DoD, calling the $4 billion price tag “out of control” and suggesting the deal should be cancelled altogether:
Boeing is building a brand new 747 Air Force One for future presidents, but costs are out of control, more than $4 billion. Cancel order!

Here are Trump’s other comments on the matter, as he told to reporters:
Trump on Boeing/Air Force One tweet: “The plane is totally out of control…we want Boeing to make a lot of money, but not that much money” pic.twitter.com/OnEuw8hfUM

“The plane is totally out of control. It’s going to be over $4 billion for Air Force One program and I think it’s ridiculous. I think Boeing is doing a little bit of a number. We want Boeing to make a lot of money, but not that much money.”
Agreed! After Obama racked up $20 trillion in debt, you’d think the average person wouldn’t care about racking up the debt any additional $4 billion. It’s about time we have a President who realizes that it does make a difference.
