Obama appears more concerned with the politics he can push because of the Orlando terror attack than the attack itself.
He’s been using the massacre to push for gun control, which is only slightly less despicable than if he claimed the event was an act of workplace violence. When Florida Governor Rick Scott requested $5 million in FEMA funds to help the victims, Obama rejected it. The liberals telling us that “thoughts and prayers aren’t enough” should note that $5 million probably would’ve been.
When the 911 transcripts of shooter Omar Mateen’s phone conversation with the police during the attack were released, the FBI censored them, removing references to ISIS and Allah. Uncensored (but incomplete) versions of the transcripts were later released the same day, but only after public outrage. It was clear that this was an attempt to control the narrative.
It doesn’t end there. Florida is known for their open media laws (which is why you see so many wacky stories out of that State), but in the case of Orlando, the less you know, the better for Obama.
Conservative Tribune reports:
The Obama administration’s FBI has ordered cops in Orlando not to allow access to documents pertaining to the June 12 Orlando terror attack, even though the media and public are entitled access to those documents under Florida law.
The order came in a June 20 letter from the FBI, which was sent to the City of Orlando and the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, telling them to “immediately notify the FBI of any requests your agency received” so that “the FBI can seek to prevent disclosure through appropriate channels, as necessary,” the Orlando Sentinel Orlando Sentinel reported.
The letter was revealed to the public in a lawsuit filed by the Sentinel, as well as 24 other media outlets, over authorities’ refusal to turn over 911 calls and other records of the June 12 attack at the Pulse nightclub, which killed 49 people.
Given how Obama tried to get away with censoring the 911 transcripts, it’s pretty obvious why he doesn’t want any additional information about the shooting coming to light.
Maybe we would’ve learned that the shooter pledged allegiance to ISIS for a thousandth time. Who knows. I’m slightly confused as to why Obama thinks it matters, it’s not like addition evidence will change the minds of any liberals.
