Obama Women Make Stop On Taxpayer-Funded World Vacation To Give One Country $27 Million In USAID

Does foreign aid even make any sense? It’s like we’re paying for friendships with nations in Africa and the Middle East and giving it a charitable name.

We give $3 billion to Israel – then give even more in aid to nation’s that want to destroy Israel. Our aid practically cancels itself out. Of course, the government is spending other people’s money so why would they care about how much they’re wasting?

You know, if our government spent as much time building roads, schools, and infrastructure in the Middle East in our own country we’d probably have half the problems we currently do.

Our aid is now funding private charitable activities for the administration now too apparently. According to Biz Pac Review:

First lady Michelle Obama arrived in Liberia Monday accompanied by her mother and daughters Malia, 17, and Sasha, 15.

“I’m here to shine a big bright light on you,” she told her daughters, according to The Associated Press. And she shined something even brighter on Liberia.

She arrived bearing gifts — up to $27 million in USAID for that country’s Let Girls Learn initiative, a program launched in March of last year by President and Mrs. Obama, according to a White House announcement.

Let Girls Learn uses the combined resources of multiple agencies, including the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Peace Corps and the Millennium Challenge Corporation to address educational challenges facing girls across the globe.

I’m all for private charity to solve problems – for the reason that it’s private. Private charities have to use money that they worked hard to raise for donors – they actually have an incentive not to be wasteful.

I’m sure that this initiative will bring about as much success on Michelle Obama’s war on obesity. That is to say, none whatsoever.

Oh well, with the national debt topping $19 trillion, what difference does another $27 million make?
