High-Priced Malibu, California, where even the smallest homes start at one million dollars, declared itself a sanctuary city at the end of March. Despite the fact that it’s nearly impossible for illegal immigrants to afford to live in the ritzy beach town, especially on the taxpayers’ dime, liberals thought they were showing solidarity to their housekeepers and gardeners with the move, regardless of what people paying a fortune to live there think. Now, a new sign popped up along the Pacific Coast Highway that’s rightfully infuriating everyone with what it’s advertising about illegals.
When Malibu announced in March that illegals were welcome in their town, the decision seemed to be more about political correctness and making a statement, than actually wanting immigrants as their neighbors. Realizing that there is no way people crossing the border into America can afford to live in or even visit Malibu, a sign that emerged overnight recently revealed the real motive for this political move.
The Pacific Coast Highway is a beautiful drive that runs along the gorgeous Southern California coast and many of Malibu’s best beaches. A welcome sign at the entrance of the city limits has a new addition to it now. It reads: “OFFICIAL SANCTUARY CITY ‘Cheap Nannies and Gardeners Make Malibu Great!’ (Boyle Heights Not So Much),” addressing what many believe is the real reason behind why wealthy residents would welcome illegals despite the dangers in doing so.
According to CBS Los Angeles, the secondary sign was nothing more than a “prank,” as Malibu City Councilman Rick Mullen called it. Councilwoman Laura Rosenthal confirmed this claim, saying, “This was not put up by the city,” and officials are planning to remove it.
Although nobody has claimed responsibility for the sign, the individual who did it makes a great point. Places don’t become sanctuary cities to benefit illegals or for any other bleeding-heart liberal rationalization for stupid decisions. There’s always an ulterior motive that will backfire with the other issues illegals bring with them other than just cheap labor or the poster people for resistance to President Trump’s policies on the matter.
