From The Conservative Tribune: On Monday, the Conservative Tribune reported that a gun range owner in Hot Springs, Ark., had banned two Muslim-looking individuals from her range because they didn’t act as if they could handle firearms responsibly.
Now, the owner, Jan Morgan, is in the crosshairs of the U.S. Department of Justice, which is considering an investigation into her business practices. But Morgan is not backing down.
She told Fox News that she bans all dangerous people from her range. She believes the two individuals she turned away may have been acting irresponsibly on purpose to “create the situation” that is occurring, namely that she is being accused of discriminating against Muslims for no good reason.
“We are dealing with lethal firearms. I am not going to let a Nazi shoot in here or a Ku Klux Klan member in here either,” she said.
Morgan doesn’t deny that her Gun Cave Indoor Shooting Range is a “Muslim-free zone” but not simply on the basis that Muslims look a little darker than her average Arkansas customer.
She cited the fact that the Quran contains “109 verses commanding hate, murder and terror against all human beings who refuse to submit or convert to Islam.” Consequently, she believes she would be crazy to give a loaded gun to someone whose faith teaches violence.
The DOJ was made aware of the situation when it received a complaint from the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
Since Morgan’s policy was publicized, she’s gotten more people wanting to use her gun range or to take lessons in the proper use of firearms.
Nevertheless, the feisty Morgan said in an interview with The Examiner that she would close down her business before putting her customers’ lives at risk.
Additionally, on her blog, she told the DOJ to leave her alone and look into the CAIR, which she said was linked to Hamas (H/T Western Journalism).
We need more people like Morgan who are willing to push back at absurd government policies that, in this case, would force her to endanger customers or go out of business.
If you think Jan Morgan is totally within her rights to turn away suspicious-acting or dangerous individuals from her gun range, please share this article on Facebook. Especially share this article with those you know who manage their own businesses.
