Former First Lady Michelle Obama’s hate for her replacement as well as what yesterday represented was on full display throughout the day. When it was finally time for her to not just leave the event, but the White House for good, she ended to momentous day on a low note with what she was caught doing before boarding the helicopter and taking off.
The day began with a look of detest for Melania Trump after she handed her a gift in a blue Tiffany’s box, as the couples came together at the White House. From there, her attitude continued as she couldn’t hide what she had been feeling inside since the second Donald Trump was elected as our 45th president. At the end of the day, when it was time to part ways, the First Couple stood side-by-side on the steps next to the former First Couple when disgusted people saw what Michelle did.
It was a comparison of class for the majority of the day as Melania far out staged Michelle with grace and gratitude, but our new First Lady wasn’t the only one. Michelle was seen with the same smug look of detest for the day as she stood on the steps and kept an uncomfortable distance between herself and her husband who was even able to manage some level of respect for their replacements that Michelle couldn’t bring herself to do. This was notable considering what Laura Bush did eight years earlier on the same day and during the same photo op on the steps.
Although the feelings between the two presidential couples on different sides of the political aisle were likely similar between the Bushes and the Obamas, as they were between the Trumps and the Obamas, Laura Bush was far more poised than Michelle Obama in the final photo with her replacement. Laura is seen smiling and beaming with happiness for the new president and his wife, which looked genuine, even if it wasn, but probably was. Michelle, on the other hand, couldn’t even pretend because she’s entitled and self-righteous and doesn’t feel that she needed to. After all, her morose face was probably all part of her attention-seeking plan that seemed to work among her sympathizers in social media.
Taking the day and honor away from the Trumps, Michelle’s somber mug stirred up a lot of sympathy posts for her. While some saw it as her feeling sad about being leaving her presidential post, the rest of the world realized it for what it really was — hate for losing power and a classless approach in handing the position over to someone else who rightfully earned it.
