Police Release Suspect Sketches In Airman Spencer Stone Stabbing

By Jeff Rainforth

The Sacramento Police Department released sketches of the suspects who are believed to have stabbed hero Airman Spencer Stone.  Surveillance video collected of the suspects show them leaving the crime scene in a 2009-2012 Maroon Toyota Camry. Airman Stone told CBS Sacramento that “he spent almost a full day sitting with detectives to work on the sketches.” Sacramento Police are asking for the public’s help to find the suspects.

A hazmat worker is seen cleaning Spencer Stone’s blood off the sidewalk the morning after the attack.

On October 15th, Airman Stone was released from UC Davis Medical Center after undergoing open heart surgery for his wounds. Stone, who was defending a woman who was being assaulted by the assailants, is expected to survive.

After hearing of the attack, Airman Brian Kolfage, who lost both legs and an arm in Iraq, set up a reward fund to help find Stone’s attackers. Sacramento Police Department’s Crime Alert is working in conjunction with Kolfage, and has agreed to an increased reward amount above their usual $1000. Sacramento Crime Alert will disburse the reward to the person who provides the tip that leads to the arrest of Airman Stone’s attacker.
