Thug Who Burned Down CVS During Baltimore Riots, Just Got B-Slapped By The Judge!

The Baltimore riots in the aftermath of Freddie Gray’s death were very popular in news and now one of the rioters was slapped with a sentence he isn’t laughing about now.

20-year old Donta Betts was one of the rioters who caused the greatest amount of damage. CBS Baltimore reported prosecutors say he he was responsible for setting fires and looting and attacking police.

Now Betts will spend 15 years in jail! Social media is partially responsible for his strong sentence. A photo went viral showing him squirting lighter fluid into propane cylinders after Gray’s death.

U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein commented,

“Donta Betts was a menace to society here in Baltimore. The scope of the criminal activity he was involved in is really breathtaking. From throwing rocks to destroying police cars, starting fires, stealing from pharmacies. If you look on the conduct that Donta Betts committed, it’s like an arc on a TV series.”

Betts reportedly confessed when he said, “I did all this because that was my period to go wild on police.” Months later he shot a woman over a $20 drug deal gone wrong.

Rioters aren’t often held to the same standard more serious violent offenders are held and it upsets many Americans who feel their is no justice for such violent rioting. But this case is living proof that rioters are not nor will they be immune from criminal prosecution.

ATF investigator David Cheplak said,

It’s very important for the city to recognize when people commit violent acts like this, they’re going to be held responsible.”

Betts has learned that if you can’t do the time don’t do the crime. Nobody gets a free pass. Finally the leftist progressive Obama administration didn’t interfere in a racially motivated investigation. Justice was followed through with and prevailed. I’m sure he’s rolling over in bed distressed but even he can’t interfere with justice.
