Racist graffiti artist? This is the kind of scum Bernie Sanders wants to allow to go to college for free. He hates whites, cops, and threatens to kill witnesses. How about we just send him to Kenya. Less whites & cops to hate over there. I’m sure residents of that country would welcome his crappy graffiti art.
Police chief sends APOLOGY for officers’ action in entering classroom to arrest man responsible for vandalism!
After a six-month investigation, University of Wisconsin police finally knew who was responsible for painting all the threatening and racist graffiti messages on campus buildings, allegedly to protest the issues of racism. Damages are estimated at $4,000 to all buildings. The messages were all signed “ – God”
Some of the messages read: RACIZM IN THE AIR, DON’T BREATHE, THE DEVIL IZ A WHITE MAN, DEATH TO THE PIGZ, WHITE SUPREMACY IZ A DISEASE, FUCK THE POLICE
Denzel McDonald is a 21-year-old student at UW-Madison, a senior in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Officer had been trying to apprehend him for the past two weeks, when they finally located him in a class room Thursday morning, April 14.
According to reports, an officer walked into the classroom and asked him to step into the hallway. After a few minutes McDonald agreed to go with the officers to talk outside. Officers then placed him under arrest without incident, and he was taken to jail.
The professor of the class where McDonald was found had this to say: “The university is more interested in protecting the symbols of UW as a progressive institution, like their buildings and Bucky, rather than the students who are actually fighting for social change, and apparently their lives,” Johanna Almiron, the Wisconsin professor whose Afro-American Studies class was disrupted by police, said in the letter. “The way UWPD officers entered my class was very aggressive, with bulletproof vests and guns visible. I cannot believe they humiliated and terrified my students. The fact that our classrooms are not respected as spaces of learning is absolutely appalling.”
The entire faculty and staff are also appalled: “This charge was for vandalism. To arrest him in his Afro-American Studies classroom, in front of his professor and his classmates goes well beyond the call of duty. We denounce UWPD’s deplorable actions and ask for immediate accountability from campus administration, particularly Chancellor Rebecca Blank.”
The university’s police chief responded with an apology for the officers’ behavior. “Because of the officer’s error in believing the class had not yet started, I extend my sincerest apologies to the students and the professor who were in this class and witnessed this interruption,” Riseling wrote.
McDonald was arrested and booked into the Dane County Jail. He posted $5,650 bail Thursday and was released.
UWPD has recommended McDonald face 11 criminal counts for vandalism, as well as one of disorderly conduct for allegedly threatening a person who witnessed him spray-painting a building. Online court records indicate he has not been charged by prosecutors.
