The body of a young African male was discovered in the wheel compartment of a C-130J U.S. Air Force cargo plane after it had made its final landing at Ramstein Air Base Germany. The plane made multiple stops enroute from Mali to Germany, which included a stop Sigonella, Italy en route to Ramstein.
Navy Rear Adm. John Kirby addressed the Pentagon news corps that the stowaway was a black male who may have been of African origin. He said the plane stopped in several African countries before it arrived Sunday at Germany’s Ramstein air base.
Kirby stated the body was discovered during the routine post-flight inspection of the C-130 cargo plane. The body has been turned over to German authorities for investigation and processing.
