Years ago, a cop-killer finally met his match.
This story is nearly a decade old – but with all the anti-police rhetoric conjured up these days by groups like Black Lives Matter and other liberals, it’s a much needed feel good story.
Conservative Tribune has the scoop:
Ten years ago, an illegal immigrant named Angilo Freeland shot and killed a sheriff’s deputy and his dog in Lakeland, Florida, leading police on a 24-hour manhunt that resulted in another officer being shot and Freeland ultimately being killed in a hail of gunfire.
According to Fox News, it was later revealed that Freeland had been hit 68 times out of an estimated 110 rounds fired at the suspect by a SWAT team that had him surrounded in a patch of woods.
Of course, the inevitable than happened.
Of course the liberal media jumped on the story, accusing Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd of using too much force and allowing the law enforcement officers under his command to fire more rounds than were necessary to conclude the manhunt for the cop-killer.
Oh yes – pity the cop killer. Why am I not surprised?
I’ll leave you with the sheriff’s epic response: “I suspect the only reason 110 rounds was all that was fired was that’s all the ammunition they had,” Judd added. “We were not going to take any chance of him shooting back.”
