Rejoice! Losing has never smelled so good for lottery aficionados, now that New Hampshire is offering a scratch-off game geared for bacon lovers.
Called “I (heart) Bacon,” the game includes “scratch-and-sniff” tickets that emit an intoxicating, mouth-watering aroma of bacon with every scratch at the possible $1,000 grand prize, according to the Associated Press, via syracuse.comn.
Ticket holders “will think it’s time for Saturday morning breakfast,” Lottery Commission Executive Director Charlie McIntyre told the AP.
New Hampshire is doing more than teasing its lottery fans with the fake smell of the world’s favorite breakfast meat. For a limited time, it’s handing out the real thing. The AP reported:
To promote the ticket, the New Hampshire Lottery will be driving a “bacon truck,” handing out free applewood smoked bacon samples and tickets at stores in Keene and Durham, the state welcome centers in Hooksett, and the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester.
All the hubbub prompted NBC-10 Philadelphia to tweet:
It sounds like the whole East Coast is excited about this one. Road trips can’t be far behind.
Of course, neither can a federal lawsuit from the Council on American Islamic Relations, accusing New Hampshire of Islamophobia because of all the pork.
Meanwhile, I have a sudden hankering for a BLT.
