Nashville Officer Matthew Cammarn witnessed an assault on a woman just after 6 p.m. and sprung into action. As he attempted to arrest the individual, the situation turned into a brawl and it was all captured on video. Since then, the video has gone viral on Facebook.

The uptick in crime that we have seen against police officers over the past couple years has been absolutely reprehensible.

The Black Lives Matter movement along with race-baiters like Al Sharpton have successfully convinced impressionable people that police are the enemy and are actively out in the streets trying to keep the African-American community down.

That’s of course not true but the fire has been lit and now we are seeing police officers across the country being violently targeted.

Now we are learning that a suspect responsible for one of those attacks has been charged with assaulting a police officer after a video of the situation was put on Facebook.

From The Daily Caller:

Two people have been charged with assaulting a police officer after a video showing a cop fighting outside a public housing building was posted to Facebook.

Nashville Officer Matthew Cammarn was at James Cayce public housing Tuesday where police say an arrest attempt turned into a brawl when Brian Shannon allegedly attacked Cammarn, NBC News reports. Shannon is charged with felony aggravated assault on a police officer, evading arrest, criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and drug possession. A 17-year-old male was also arrested and charged with evading arrest and aggravated assault.

Cammarn was awarded 2015 Police Officer of The Year for saving the life of a 17-year-old gunshot victim.

The attack was captured on video. Graphic language warning.
