The American Nightmare

American Nightmare

When you imagine what the American dream is do you imagine one where you can live with all the toys and material goods you could ever want or one where you can live in freedom and raise a family in peace without fear of persecution for your beliefs, whatever those may beliefs may be.   For most families in today’s times that dream is dwindling away. Poverty is a reality to more US families now, that number, sadly is also still growing.   The amount of people that have altogether dropped out of the workforce and have given up on the American dream is staggering.   What will it take to turn this terrible trend around you ask? Well unfortunately it seems everything is being done to stop this country from turning around.

With more and more being done to stamp out coal in this country and infrastructure funds going to friends to build failing green job companies it is no wonder that we are headed in the direction we are. The recent emissions cuts handed out by this administration by skipping congress and using his mighty pen are detrimental to the health and wellbeing of this country and the economy. Check out these numbers handed out in an EPA report found in Forbes: The EPA reportedly estimates that investments needed to meet the emission limits will cost about $8 billion a year, but would save 6,600 lives and more than $50 billion a year in health care costs tied to air pollution. How did they come up with those numbers? The federal government uses bias and non-scientific methods to come up with scary numbers to cause fear in order to pass an agenda.   Too bad the agenda is hurting the very people it’s protecting.

Sadly more children are now living in poverty since 1994.   The families are losing hours and jobs thanks to a healthcare law that is leaving them behind.   The cost of food is steadily rising as is the cost of gas and other necessities. This new emissions guidelines will also cause the cost of energy in the United States to skyrocket costing families even more. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce argues that the rule will kill jobs and close power plants across the country. The group released a study that finds the rule will result in the loss of 224,000 jobs every year through 2030 and impose $50 billion in annual costs.

How will that help and protect the disappearing middle class you ask? It won’t. Some supporters of the new numbers suggest that just as many new jobs will be created because the states will now have to fund wind and solar projects. You should ask yourself how that has worked so far with Solyndra and other green companies given billions to create new jobs that never happened. After a huge stimulus bill to support shovel ready jobs throughout the country failed the president was caught joking about it with a big grin, he noted, “Shovel-ready was not as — uh — shovel ready as we expected.” The truth is all those shovel ready green projects that Obama had to use tax payer money to find didn’t actually produce even one “shovel ready” job.   Instead just made the pockets of his friends much fatter at the expense of our hard earned tax dollars. Also wrapped up in ridiculous government regulations and permitting that ended up causing most projects to flounder.   Unfortunately the track record of this administration is not very good when it comes to creating jobs and seems to be much more efficient at destroying jobs for good hard working middle class Americans.   Can we withstand two more years of this? I hope so.
