You’ve heard liberal haters mock Trump’s promise to build a wall along our southern border, saying ‘it’s impossible and good luck getting Mexico to pay for it.’ Well, in your face liberals, if the report from Reuters is true Trump has already begun preparing to do the impossible.
Reuters news agency says that the Trump’s transition team has asked the Department of Homeland Security to formally assess how many assets the department has for “border wall and barrier construction.” Trump is starting the wall building process by asking for a “wide-ranging of documents for analysis”. These requests started when the Trump transition team had a meeting on December 5th with the Department of Homeland Security. Several areas were explored to increase our southern borders security, at the meeting.
During the meeting, a memo claimed, Border Protection and U.S. Customs “identified more than 400 miles along the U.S.-Mexico border, and about the same distance along the U.S.-Canada border, where new fencing could be erected.”
Trump’s transition team took a look at Operation Phalanx, a program that surveys the southern border from the skies with 1,200 National Guard airmen. During the George W. Bush administration the program employed up to 6,000 airmen, but has been greatly downsized during the Obama administration.
“The transition team also asked for copies of every executive order and directive sent to immigration agents since (President Barack) Obama took office in 2009, according to the memo summarizing the meeting,” Reuters reported.
Another request had to do with the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program. The DACA is an American immigration policy that the Obama administration started in 2012, allowing certain undocumented immigrants to stay in the United States if they entered the country as minors. It allows them to receive a renewable two-year period residency and lowered their risk of being deported. The program “collected information including participants’ addresses that could theoretically be used to locate and deport them if the policy is reversed.”
Since Trump plans to reverse DACA his transition team asked for any identification records that may have been changed. “A Department of Homeland Security official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the agency interpreted the request to mean the transition team wanted to make sure that federal workers were not tampering with information to protect DACA recipients and other migrants from deportation,” Reuters reported.
From what we are hearing from Reuters it appears Trump is already on his way to building the southern-border wall. No doubt that Trump will make good on his promise to secure the southern border. It’s just a matter of time.
