In my opinion, one of the greatest proofs that Black Lives Matter isn’t concerned with Black lives is that they focus all their attention on is issue that doesn’t affect 99.9% of Blacks who obey the law. Every year they’re able to put out a list of people of color killed in various police shootings, usually in the single digits. While all the deaths are undoubtedly tragic, the vast majority have turned out to be justified. Out of a black population of over thirty million living in America, your more likely to be struck by lightening than killed by police. If the cops were racist, you’d think the stats would be a bit higher than that.
If they wanted to focus the greatest threat the Black community suffers, you’d think they would address the biggest taker of Black lives: other Blacks. Focusing their attention towards gang violence would be the most efficient use of their time if they really wanted to save Black lives. Instead, they’ve opted for rallying around (mostly) thugs who were killed while attacking police officers. If you look at a list of demands the BLM, the movement has released six categories of demands (which really amounts to over 100 total demands)
You know what could make the most crime-ridden communities vastly safer? More police. That seems like common sense, no?
The Chicago Tribune reports:
After another violent holiday weekend, Chicago police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said Tuesday his department is doing all it can to combat violence rooted in “impoverished neighborhoods” where “people without hope do these kinds of things.”
“It’s not a police issue, it’s a society issue,” Johnson told reporters outside police headquarters after a long weekend that saw 65 people shot, 13 of them fatally.
“Impoverished neighborhoods, people without hope do these kinds of things,” he said. “You show me a man that doesn’t have hope, I’ll show you one that’s willing to pick up a gun and do anything with it.
“Those are the issues that’s driving this violence. CPD is doing its job,” he continued.
Johnson pointed to increases in gun arrests this year over last year — and more than 6,000 illegal gun recoveries so far in 2016 — as evidence that officers are out on the streets working.
The weekend had begun relatively quietly. But the violence spiked on the last day, with 31 shot between 6 a.m. Monday and 3 a.m. Tuesday. Nine of the fatal shootings occurred over that period.
Chicago shows just what happens when you have both a week police force, a Democrat rune city legislature, and strict gun control laws. There’s a reason liberals never want to talk about problems in our inner-cities, and it’s because it proves them wrong about EVERYTHING.
