President Trump made some interesting comments about what he needs to survive the presidency and it will likely surprise many.
Upon assuming the office of the presidency he insisted he needs God now more than ever while leading the nation. The President identifies as a Presbyterian Christian. On Friday he spoke to investigative journalist David Brody on the Christian Broadcasting Network’s The Brody File where he made his comments.
“I would say that the office is so powerful that you need God even more because your decisions are no longer, ‘Gee, I’m going to build a building in New York,’ or ‘I’m going to do this. These are questions of massive life and death, even with regard to health care. You know we’re working very hard on health care. But there, you’re talking about life and death and you’re talking about better lives. People living better because they have better health care at a lower price, which we’re working very hard on.”
The President concluded with the following statement,
“So yes, you realize these decisions are all so important. There’s almost not a decision that you make when you’re sitting in this position that isn’t a really life-altering position. So God comes in even more so.”
Trump went on to explain that there would be new restrictions on refugees and that those who were Christian were going to be given preferential treatment to enter the United States.
“They’ve been horribly treated. Do you know if you were a Christian in Syria it was impossible, at least very tough, to get into the United States? And I thought it was very, very unfair. So we are going to help them.”
The President has embraced a hard-core conservative agenda that appeals to many conservative Christians. Whether it is this immigration policy, the defunding of Planned Parenthood, or the reinstatement of the global gag rule. While the left is scrambling to function. It is clear now more than ever that the President will be relying on his faith to get him through these next four years. The interview in its entirety will be broadcast on CBN tomorrow.
