Donald Trump has had a tempestuous relationship with Hollywood celebrities. The entertainment industry is notoriously liberal and they never cease to take the opportunity to talk down to him or criticize him. But it seems he might just get the last laugh after all.
Adweek has reported that a total of 43 million American citizens tuned in to watch President Trump’s address before a joint session of Congress on Tuesday evening. The Hollywood Reporter reported that the Oscars, which were held on Sunday, brought in only 32 million viewers. Clearly, a very stark contrast in viewership from one another.
These statistics are all according to Nielsen ratings. Of all the major cable news networks it was Fox News who brought in the most viewers of all. In total, they had approximately 10.765 million. In second place was NBC with 9.114 million viewers. Here is a list of the ratings overall.

In the words of President Donald Trump, perhaps if Hollywood liberal celebrities were more concerned with themselves and their work they wouldn’t have made such a disaster of the announcement process for Best Picture. Considering the fact they wasted the majority of the night taking digs at the President one would think they would try and get their act together.
When asked for his opinions on the Oscars controversy he said the following,
“I think they were focused so hard on politics they they didn’t get the act together at the end. It didn’t feel like a very glamorous evening. I’ve been to the Oscars. There was something very special missing, and then to end that way was sad.”
Unlike those Hollywood celebrities, the President is well… the President. He has much bigger fish to fry. In the end, that is what makes him the winner.
