Today isn’t just any Monday or the first of May for that fact. When you’re the President of the United States and one who is not beholden to anyone but the American people, you feel free to step out and declare today a national holiday no matter who it pisses off. Trump makes no apologies for making America great again and did just that with what May 1 will represent for years to come, much to the detest of certain people in this country. This is as awesome as it gets and why we’re lucky to have him as a leader.
We already saw our country change for the better after Trump was elected and got right to work making huge, effective changes within his first 100 days in office. Our patriotic leader wants America to be America again after Barack Obama tried to make it a Muslim nation, and now he’s just made a big proclamation to ensure that happens, and liberals are losing their minds over this supposedly “Orwellian” move, while the rest of us couldn’t be more proud.
“President Donald Trump asked Americans to reaffirm their allegiance to the United States’ founding principals in a proclamation that caused a number of people on social media to flip out,” Bustle reported, which is a liberal publication, who didn’t make their statement without provocation.
“In his proclamation, Trump called on Americans to ‘observe this day with appropriate ceremonies,’ including reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and asked government officials to display the American flag on all government buildings and grounds. But while Trump’s request may sound a bit Orwellian, the truth is there’s no reason to freak out about Trump’s Loyalty Day proclamation, as the holiday has been around for decades,” the source continued.
As the liberal piece stated, this holiday as been around for decades, however, how many Americans are aware of that? It took a president seeing the importance in it to revive it, which is something needed now more than ever. It’s one thing for it to be on the books, but something entirely different to recognize and celebrate it. Obama had the opportunity to for eight years, but was more concerned with celebrating the Muslim holiday of Ramadan, by hosting Islamic leaders for dinner at the White House, than with acknowledging “Loyalty Day” that has “been around for decades.”
Truth Examiner takes the hate for this day and our president even further by alleging in their slanderous piece about this holiday that it’s a feeble attempt at getting a ratings boost (as if his all-time high approval ratings need it). “Trump must really hate that his poll numbers are so low—he’s bringing back an Eisenhower era holiday, but twisted terribly,” the liberal rag reported. “It’s called “Loyalty Day,” they stated as if to joke on showing loyalty to the land of the free which brave men and women have lost life and limb defending to ensure that gift of freedom.
While Trump did make some minor changes to this particular holiday, it was only done as an updated applicable to the current day and definitely something that true Americans certainly wouldn’t be offended by. “His declaration mentions the fighting of anyone who wants to jeopardize the rights of Americans. These enemies included the ambiguous ‘those who would seek to harm’ and ISIS. Yes. ISIS is mentioned in the Declaration of Loyalty Day,” the Truth Examiner added in their report as if showing allegiance to the United States is somehow worse than pledging it to a terrorist organization which seeks to destroy us.
It’s interesting that there’s such an attack on simply a day in which our president asks people to pledge allegiance to our flag, which goes to show how far society has devolved under our former, seemingly anti-American leader. Liberals on Twitter are going as far as to say that this is a divisive holiday. If people are really that put off by showing respect and appreciation for our flag and country, then why are they here in the first place? You can’t enjoy the freedom without acknowledging the sacrifice and wanting to stop those who are a threat to it.
Regardless of our differences, we are still one nation under God and those who don’t want to admit that or appreciate the rights granted to each one of because of it, are free to leave. There are countries with far more stifling ceremonies they may not like without the right to express how you feel about it.
