For some reason, many Mayors of sanctuary cities are vowing to defy Donald Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration. You’d think the Mayors of sanctuary cities would realize how harm such policies are and be happy to have the President take care of the problem for them.
But I guess not. The mayors of a number of large cities like Boston, New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, and others have banded together to defy Trump. In response, he’s threatened their federal funding. NYC has a whopping $7 billion on the line if they don’t comply. Not all sanctuary city mayors are being idiots however, as the mayor of Miami for instance has given up his city’s sanctuary status.
Others have been acting in defiance in Texas of all places, but Governor Greg Abbott fully backs Trump’s plan, and has already defunded some counties that aren’t complying. Meanwhile, for Trump, when it comes to him being defied in immigration, it’s personal.
As Truth Examiner reported:
Donald Trump just threatened to go after a Texas state senator who was the target of complaints from a local sheriff. Danya feltzin
During a White House meeting, Rockwall County, Texas, Sheriff Harold Eavenson told Trump about a lawmaker who was offering asset forfeiture legislation he believes would aid Mexican drug cartels.
“Who is the state senator? Do you want to give his name? We’ll destroy his career,” Trump offered.
The crowd of law enforcement officials in the room laughed, and Eavenson declined to say the senator’s name.
During the meeting, Trump stressed his desire to aggressively crack down on terrorism, illegal immigration and drug cartels. He also vowed to go ahead with the administration’s challenge of a court ruling blocking his refugee and travel ban, sating, “They want to take a lot of our powers away. Some people with the wrong intentions.”

Trump also said he would take steps to limit the flow of drugs across the U.S. southern border, saying, “We’re committed to securing our borders. We’re going to be building a wall.”
At least when we have a border wall complete, and more security at the border, this senator won’t be able to screw anything else up.
