Before Donald Trump was the President of the United States of America, he was a civilian in Manhattan, New York, where he was well known. His wife and their son have maintained residency there since his win which has been wrought with liberal controversy. President Trump himself hasn’t returned to the Big Apple since taking office, until Thursday, when he made his initial appearance as POTUS and was met with a sick surprise from his former neighbors who had something particularly nasty to say.
Despite it being his hometown, the welcome back wasn’t warm or well received as most would have hoped, which perhaps Trump expected with a keen understanding of his home city where he became successful. However, even the worst of his what he thought he would hear and see was no match for the reality when he landed in the big city and exited his aircraft to an entourage who had a two-word chant which won’t soon forget.
“The native New Yorker, whose image for decades was interwoven with his brash hometown, is making his first trip back to Manhattan since taking office, returning Thursday to mark the anniversary of an important World War II battle by making a speech on a decommissioned aircraft carrier docked on the Hudson River,” the New York Daily News reports.
This seems innocent enough and clearly commendable unless you’re misguided in a city run by Bill de Blasio who aims to perpetuate hate toward our president and further the divide between the two political parties, for his own personal gain.
It was thought that Trump would get a chilly response from citizens in the city, but not even he expected what would actually happen upon landing. With several protests planned for his visit, stationed at the USS Intrepid and his home at Trump Tower, where his wife and youngest son still reside; photographers were in place to capture the rejecting and demoralizing moment when it backfired on these outlets spectacularly.
President Trump’s arrival wasn’t just an unwelcome one, it was met with a “f*ck you” greeting from ignorant locals, who also shouted boos and additional profanity. “Thousands of people are ready to protest Donald Trump,” Steven Choi, executive director of the New York Immigration Coalition which is co-organizing one of the large-scale protests, told NYDailyNews. “On the president’s first trip back to New York City, the world will see us rise up and oppose him again.”

“But Trump opponents have been much more vocal than supporters. Activists are using Facebook and other social media to call on protesters to gather at several locations to voice opposition to Trump’s immigration, healthcare and other policies,” NYDaily News reported.
As promised and sadly expected, the protests were prevalent upon our president’s arrival in his hometown, despite what he’s down for these liberals. It’s a sick show of disrespect to say “F*uck you” to the man who managed to make huge recoveries in the economy and job market in just his first 100 days. All they can see is that the candidate they didn’t vote for, won, and will completely ignore anything positive he does for America.
“New Yorkers have certainly protested previous presidents, notably George W. Bush during the 2004 Republican National Convention. But this moment will feel ‘unique because it’s rare to see a president so unpopular in his own city’,” one of Trump’s local nemeses, George Arzt said, who has a history of butting heads with Trump.
It’s really sad that the left can’t get over their hate to progress and incite violence rather than encouraging positive change which the claim to be after. Part of their frustration was that during his campaigning and numerous rallies, not a single one was held in New York and it’s no wonder why he skipped the liberal city on his tour — it’s a hotbed of hate and violence toward him.
No matter how much dislike Republicans in this country had for Barack Obama for two terms, he wasn’t ever met with such sick profanity upon landing anywhere in America. It’s unacceptable for grown adults to shout “f*ck you” to our Commander-in-Chief and rally up people to bring a brutal entourage to the scene but sadly expected from the left.
