The issue of illegal immigration is both an economic issue and a national secure issue.
According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform, Illegal immigration costs U.S. taxpayers about $113 billion a year at the federal, state and local level. The bulk of the costs — some $84 billion — are absorbed by state and local governments. That means that the annual outlay that illegal aliens cost U.S. taxpayers is an average amount per native-headed household of $1,117.
And the crime statistics are even more shocking.
- Between 2008 and 2014, 40% of all murder convictions in Florida were criminal aliens. In New York it was 34% and Arizona 17.8%.
- During those years, criminal aliens accounted for 38% of all murder convictions in the five states of California, Texas, Arizona, Florida and New York, while illegal aliens constitute only 5.6% of the total population in those states.
- That 38% represents 7,085 murders out of the total of 18,643.
And of course, Mexico is overrun with gang violence, stemming from the drug trade there. It goes without saying that they’re people we don’t want crossing the border.
Donald Trump is going to be building a wall that will be complete within the next two years (before Democrats even have a chance of retaking the House or Senate), and ramping up security on the border. And as the Conservative Tribune just reported, it’s a good thing he’s doing so.
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Border Patrol agents reportedly apprehended two individuals who were attempting to sneak across the border Saturday — but they weren’t the customary illegal aliens from Mexico or Central America.
CBP confirmed to Breitbart Texas that one Iraqi national and one Egyptian national were detained by Border Patrol agents after they illegally entered the U.S. from Mexico. Iraq and Egypt are hotbeds for terrorism.
CBP did not confirm if the foreign nationals were men, however a source claimed they were both males.
Breitbart reported that the area south of the border from where the individuals were apprehended is controlled by criminal groups working for the Sinaloa Federation or cartel. The Sinaloa is more professional than other cartels in the region, according to Breitbart, which makes it unlikely that the illegal aliens from the Middle East were traveling in the area without the cartel’s permission.
We don’t know much about these individuals or what they were planning to do, but we do know they were trying to enter the country illegally. Their capture — in addition to the documented dangerous behavior of other illegal aliens — is just another example of why we need to get busy on building a border wall.
We couldn’t keep 15 million illegal aliens out of our country due to our open border, so what makes us think we can keep out gang members, or even terrorists, without a complete and secure border? We can’t.
