Major media pundits met with President Elect Donald Trump and his transition team. The reports from an anonymous source said it best,
“It was like a f******* firing squad.”
Trump allegedly gave them a beat down for their bias behind closed doors. Top members of influence in the mainstream liberal media wee invited to a closed door meeting with Trump at his Trump Tower in New York City, New York. The President Elect reportedly started off the meeting by attacking CNN report Jeff Zucker saying,
“I hate your network, everyone at CNN is a liar and you should be ashamed.”
The beat down continued in the room of thirty to forty when he eventually addressed them all and said,
“We’re in a room of liars, the deceitful dishonest media who got it all wrong.”
The anonymous source stated the following to the media about the meeting,
“He addressed everyone in the room calling the media dishonest, deceitful liars. He called out Jeff Zucker by name and said everyone at CNN was a liar, and CNN was [a] network of liars.”
Then he targeted Kathy Tur of NBC,
“Trump didn’t say (NBC reporter) Katy Tur by name, but talked about an NBC female correspondent who got it wrong, then he referred to a horrible network correspondent who cried when Hillary lost who hosted a debate, which was Martha Raddatz who was also in the room.”
When news of the debacle broke people went onto social media, specifically Twitter, to spread their opinions on this infamous meeting.
Without a doubt this has to be a long time coming for Trump and his team. Throughout their entire campaign over the last year Trump and his team have called out the media for bias. Whether people believe it to be truthful or not, their claims that Hillary Clinton was going to win in a slam dunk election were completely unfounded.
However, as a businessman he should now that in the long run a stunt like this would not serve him well whatsoever. He has to deal with these people whether he likes it or not for the next four years, possibly eight. Alienating them in a childish rant of, “I won, you lose” serves nobody’s best interests, certainly not his.
He will likely end up paying for it in the long run in more coverage that he does not like by the mainstream liberal media.
