Donald Trump decimated Hillary Clinton 306-232, and liberals are whining about how it’s unfair that he’ll be the next President. Why? Because Hillary Clinton won the popular vote…. even though it’s literally irrelevant. If we didn’t have an electoral college and based presidential elections on the popular vote, both campaigns would’ve strategized and compaigned differently. You can’t talk hypotheticals when changing the rules of the game would also change the behavior of both candidates.
And most people agree. According to Gallup, support for the electoral college actually increased since the election. More people were happy that the system we have in place prevented Hillary from taking office.
In one key swing State that is often used as a barometer for public opinion Trump dominated. As Truthfeed reported:
After all the votes are counted in the great state of Ohio, Trump’s victory was indeed historic.
It was the most lopsided presidential election win in the state in 28 years.
When you look at this map you can see that in Ohio, it was never close.
The official tally shows Donald Trump won Ohio by 446,841 votes over Hillary Clinton. On a percentage basis, Trump won Ohio by the largest margin since Reagan!
Just review the statistics for a second:
There are 3,141 counties in the United States.
Trump won 3,084 of them.
Clinton won 57.
There are 62 counties in New York State.
Trump won 46 of them.
Clinton won 16.
Even in liberal States, Trump won the majority of counties. There’s a reason we have an electoral college – and thank God it kept Hillary Clinton out of office. For me, that’s evidence enough that it’s working as intended.
