OK, this is ingenious whoever came up with the idea.
Trump will build a massive wall on the U.S. Mexican border. He’s also planning on major infrastructure spending. What better to go on top of the wall that would be part of the rebuilding project than a high-speed bullet train.
Earlier this year Trump spoke of how behind the United States is in terms of building high speed rail lines compared to other countries. He told the Guardian:
“China and these other countries, they have super-speed trains. We have nothing. This country has nothing. We are like the third world.
But we will get it going and we will do it properly and, as I say, make America great again.”
Gary Forbes posted the idea on Twitter.

California Governor Jerry Brown also wants to build a high-speed rail line from San Francisco to Los Angeles. We should mention Brown’s project is very unpopular in California, and very expensive, but as the LA Times points out, with Trump as president, Brown may have just gotten an ally for federal funds.
“In March, Brown said of the Republican presidential candidate, who promises to build a wall to protect the U.S.-Mexico border: “If Trump were ever elected, we’d have to build a wall around California to defend ourselves from the rest of the country.”
Think again, governor. He could be just the right guy for one of your legacy projects. As president, Trump conceivably could pry billions of dollars from Congress for the grossly underfunded and unpopular California bullet train.”
I’m not sure how big a fan Trump would be about giving a Democratic governor & state billions of dollars for this kind of project seeing that Brown isn’t a huge fan of his, but, you never know.
At least the wall will be built, with the possibility of a cool high-speed bullet train on top of it.
Who knows, maybe enough conservatives from red states near Texas would hop on the train & relocate to California & turn it red, also. Being from California that would be a dream come true for many of us, but realistically I’d put the possibility in the same category as the US building a colony on the moon next year.
Hey, we can hope though, right?!
