As if you thought the saga in Ferguson was coming to an end, the new US representative to the UN conference in Geneva to discuss victims of police brutality is… Mike Brown’s mom?
After Mike Brown’s funeral, one of the last times Lesley McSpadden (his mother) made the news was an assault and theft between Brown family relatives over t-shirt sales.
A police report describes a car pulling up and several people getting out. One of those people, was reported to be Michael Brown`s Mom, Lesley McSpadden. A witness described McSpadden yelling ‘You can`t sell this s%$&” One of the relatives, who was selling, reportedly demanded McSpadden show a document proving she had a patent.
The police report says that`s when an unidentified person with McSpadden assaulted Petty so violently that it resulted in a 911 call. A witness tells Fox 2 that the weapon was a metal pipe or pole. The suspect reportedly struck Petty in the face. Medics then took him to Christian Northeast Hospital. The witness said the assault suspect grabbed merchandise and a box of cash believed to contain about $1,400.
It appears surveillance cameras could have captured the fight and be part of police evidence. Police report no arrests at this time. (Channel 2 News, St. Louis)
Now, it looks like she is taking her son’s case before the United Nations (UN) in Geneva as the United States’ representative.
Lesley McSpadden, the mother of the 18-year-old boy whose death at the hands of a Ferguson police officer in August sparked weeks of protests, is going to Geneva, Switzerland next month to speak about her son and other victims of police brutality in front of the United Nations.
Mike Brown’s killing is still under investigation by federal officials, while a local grand jury tasked with deciding whether to charge officer Darren Wilson for his death is supposed to make an announcement any day — with few in Ferguson believing that an indictment is.
But with little faith in the justice her son will receive, McSpadden, accompanied by one of the family’s lawyers and a handful of local activists and human rights advocates, is taking her son’s case — and that of other victims of racial profiling and police violence — straight to the UN Committee Against Torture, the body tasked with preventing torture and cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment and punishment around the world.
The trip — which was recently made public by organizers and promoted under the tagline “Ferguson to Geneva” — is meant to make a case, to as wide an audience as possible, that both Brown’s killing and the militarized police response to protesters demanding justice for him, are a matter of human rights. They are protesting the officer who was in the hospital with a smashed eye socket that shoot Brown inside the vehicle while Brown had his hand on the gun. That is consistent with the evidence, the “eye witness” testimonies, and the main reason the rioting crowd thinks Wilson will not be convicted.
A group hopes to raise the $11,000 needed to send her. It is being promoted by Al Sharpton, who just this weekend called to arrest Wilson for shooting Brown despite this being his second grand jury arraignment (against the Constitution) to appease the crowd who have convicted Wilson, who is in fear for his life, of being guilty until proven innocent (against his civil rights). McSpadden was in attendance at Sharpton’s speech.
Though no parent should have to suffer loosing a child, it is hard not to point out the obvious on this ludicrous call of having her represent the United States that can only be approved by the Executive Branch.
Really? I actually feel extraordinarily sorry for this woman, because it is obvious to me that liberal mainstream media shills like Reverend Al Sharpton have managed to blind her from the obvious truth – that her son was a thug, and that the majority of Ferguson protesters too are nothing more than thugs. Their actions – looting stores, assaulting motorists, burning flags and rapping about killing white people – prove it! (Downtrend)
While stranger appointments have been made by the current Presidential Administration (like an Ebola Czar that thinks over population is his main concern), it is a very unusual call to have anyone speak on an issue that is still in the trial process to the UN.
Then again, President Obama convicted Wilson in his UN speech and apologized for US misbehavior in law enforcement before the DOJ ever started the second unconstitutional grand jury just last September.
Police brutality does exist in America, but convicting an innocent man while it is still in trial process seems to be common themes to this administration. It is being used as a race baiting agenda to further divide this nation while we turn a blind eye to the very real unconstitutional acts by this President. It is also excusing the behavior of assaulting family and robbing them because the woman is “grieving” the loss of her son.
When is enough unconstitutional acts going to be enough for our nation?
