Several soldiers with the Utah National Guard have found themselves in hot water after allowing a group of British bikini models run rampant on their base.
An officer has been stripped of his command, and three other officers will be reprimanded for their involvement with allowing a promotional video to be partially shot at Camp Williams, according to the New York Daily News.
The unauthorized video shows the bikini-clad models firing high-powered weapons and riding in military vehicles among other things. It was produced by a British company as a promotional video showing a “behind the scenes” look at the making of a pin-up calendar.
None of the soldiers were publicly named, but Guard Lt. Col. Steven Fairbourn said that a 19th Special Forces noncommissioned officer who allowed the video to be shot at the training center now faces reprimand and mandatory early retirement. Two members of a Utah SWAT team who appeared in the video while uniformed also face discipline, according to the Department of Public Safety.
Part of the punishment for the soldiers includes having to pay back the $200 in fuel costs for the use of military fuel, and the lower ranking soldiers will receive counseling along with a reprimand, Fairbourn said.
