Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky is a young influential billionaire. He’s worth about $3.8 billion and is among the 100 most influential people on the planet. He’s also elitist and absolutely clueless. He was quick to chastise President Trump’s freeze on refugees from nations that are hotbeds for terrorists. Chesky is offering free lodging to all refugees who are turned away from the US. Hope he has insurance and something that is great for getting blood stains out. Just sayin’. What an asshat.
Gee, we have thousands of military veterans that are homeless and I don’t see Chesky (who is American by the way) stepping forward to help them. But those poor misunderstood Islamic extremists! We have to doooo something!! I don’t use Airbnb, but if I did, I’d boycott them. Not only is this idiot disrespecting the President, he’s actively seeking to harm our nation all so he can hang with the cool kids (who are all elitist Marxists). A number of these young wealthy entrepreneurs seem to lose not only brain cells but their souls once they get uber rich.
Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky posted a message on Facebook Saturday evening criticizing President Donald Trump’s executive order temporarily halting the US refugee program. “Not allowing counties or refugees into America is not right, and we must stand with those who are affected,” Chesky wrote.
Chesky announced that Airbnb will provide free housing to refugees who have been turned away from US-bound flights, and are not in their “city/country of residence,” he said. Neither Chesky nor Airbnb responded to questions about the specifics of the program. An Airbnb spokesperson told BuzzFeed News that the company “will leverage existing tools and will share details in the next few days.”
In a later message, posted online by the New York Times, Chesky expanded on his message criticizing Trump’s order.
“It is a policy that I profoundly disagree with and it is a direct obstacle to our mission,” he wrote in an internal staff memo. He went on to state: “Barring refugees and people who are not a threat from entering American simply because they are from a certain country is not right, and we must stand with those who are affected.”
Chesky will release more details of his offer next week. He wrote on Twitter to stay tuned for more information on how this will work–and “contact me if urgent need for housing.” He added: “Not allowing countries or refugees into America is not right, and we must stand with those who are affected,” and, “Open doors brings all of US together. Closing doors further divides US. Let’s all find ways to connect people, not separate them.” What a short sighted suicidal mindset.
This is one of the major voices from the technology sector. Airbnb is a major employer of foreign workers. Some leaders are calling Trump’s Executive Order immoral and un-American. Actually, the ones doing that are leftists. The EO is neither immoral or un-American. Barack Obama banned Iraqi refugees for six months in 2011. It is a matter of national security and it is quintessentially American. It is to protect America that these things are being done. To protect all of us… not just the wealthy like Chesky.
