Speaking about perseverance to students, faculty and area residents on Wednesday at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas, former President George W. Bush also discussed the ongoing battle againstMuslim terror.
In his familiar direct style, he stated that “evil is real.”
In the fight against the Islamic State terrorists, “there is no light gray,” he said.
Their current tactics of “murdering innocent people to move a political point of view has been, is and always will be evil,” he explained.
“When the pressure is off, that’s when they strike,” he remarked.

Audience members took to Twitter to show support for the former president’s sentiments while expressing frustration with Mr. Obama’s approach to the situation.
The former president once again delivered sound advice that the current administration should heed.
Policies of retreat and never-ending diplomatic efforts send the wrong message to terrorists and increase the risk of violence to American interests at home and abroad.
What cost must America and its allies pay before the Obama administration takes a firm stand in this fight?
