In the first presidential debate, Hillary Clinton mocked Donald Trump by casually mentioning she knows he likes to live in his own reality. The audience laughed – but I’m sure they think the same about Hillary.

When you see Hillary respond to Trump’s attacks, it’s hard not to think the same about her. She scored a gold at the mental gymnastics, somehow managing to blame her statements in a speech to a Brazilian bank that as a politician, you need to “have both a public and private position on certain issues” and compare herself to Abraham Lincoln. She also stated in the same speech that “my dream is a hemispheric common market with open trade and open borders,” one which she claimed reflected her energy policy. Can anyone please explain what an “open borders” energy policy would look like?

Among the other revelations from the Wikileaks releases was that DNC chairwoman Donna Brazile leaked at least one question from a CNN town hall to Hillary back in March prior to the debate. Megyn Kelly pressed Brazile on that last night, and her response was pure denial, obfuscation and industrial-strength squirming.

As the Federalist Papers reported:

Brazile – now the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee – was tipped off to at least one question at a primary debate in March. She wrote as much in an e-mail to communications director Jennifer Palmieri. “From time to time, I get questions in advance,” she wrote.

On Megyn’s show, she categorically denied she received any question in advance (which means she’s totally lying one way or the other).

Other than that, she didn’t give a coherent explanation – she said the content was stolen, that Megyn Kelly was a “thief” and that she will not let herself be persecuted. It’s just awesome.

“As a Christian woman, I understand persecution,” Brazile told Kelly. “Your information is false. What you’re — well, for suggestive e-mails were stolen. You’re interested and you’re like a thief that wants to bring into the night the things that.”

“I have seen so many doctored emails. I have seen things that come from me at 2 in the morning that I don’t even send. There are several email addresses that I once used. This has not been verified. This is under investigation,” Brazile also said.

Personally, I think the line of defense that the Clinton camp has offered up such far is damning itself. Hillary doesn’t seem to have any defense aside from stating that the documents that Wikileaks were obtained were likely due to Russian hackers.

And to that I ask: so what? How does the source of information determine its validity? If Russian hackers had instead hacked Donald Trump, do you think Hillary Clinton would refuse to politicize it because it was Russia behind the hack?

Of course not. Hillary Clinton has been exposed, and it’s not Trump’s job to apologize to her for what Russia allegedly did.
