If there’s anyone unafraid to put liberals in their place, it’s Trey Gowdy.
Among my favorite time seeing him in action was when he absolutely grilled Hillary Clinton during the Benghazi hearings. As we all remember, as Secretary of State, Hillary was a key figure – perhaps the leader – of the massive cover up which tried to sweep the Benghazi terrorist attack under the rug. Determined to blame the attack on a low-budget YouTube movie, Team Hillary spent weeks lying to the American people about why four Americans – including one ambassador – died on September 11th, 2012 in Libya.
As World Politics US reported:
Trey Gowdy was invited to talk in front of students at Liberty University. His speech was breathtaking and powerful, so in the end it was even named the “Pin Drop Speech”, since all the focus was directed on Gowdy only.
While speaking to the students, Gowdy asked them what they believed in and taught them how to create their own opinions instead of accepting foreign ones. He also stated that it was crucial to always fight for what you believe.
Citing 2 Chronicles 7:14, Gowdy explained that for our nation to prosper, its people need to humble themselves, seek God’s face, pray, and reform. This begins with believers.
He told students that if they want a better future than the current state of the nation, they need to decide what they believe and learn how to defend their views, so that others will be more receptive to their beliefs.
Gowdy cautioned students that if they want people to believe what they believe, they should not insult others’ belief systems or act like a hypocrite.
“Insulting people does not work if your objective is to persuade them,” he said. “When a person is insulted, they become even more dogmatic in holding their incorrect belief. If you are going to say that the Lord called you to go into politics, then you need to act like it. If you are not going to act like it, then you need to take His name out of the equation.”
