Hillary Clinton had a disastrous night in Indiana, losing by five points to socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders in a race most polls had her leading in. Next up on the primary map is West Virginia, where coal is king and Clinton is in deep trouble.
Why, you may ask? Well, it turns out that while stumping for clean energy during a town hall, she said something West Virginians aren’t going to like.
“We’re going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business,” Clinton said.
Fox News talked to a few of the coal miners she plans to put “out of business,” and they had some harsh words for the Democrat front-runner.
“She said, and she did not make it a secret that she is going to continue with the policies of the past seven-and-a-half years and expand upon them,” miner Alan Laderi said. “There’s no other way to perceive that. Pure and simple, we are doomed.“
Miner Jordan Bridges agreed.
“I think she is basically just stabbing us in the back,” Bridges said. “I mean how can you say you’re going to put us all out of work, the coal companies, and come here and lie to our face the way she did. I have nothing for her and as a matter of fact I agree with our mayor, she can stay out of our plants and stay out of our state.”
This is why Clinton lost in Indiana, and why she’s going to lose again in West Virginia. It isn’t any coincidence that she’s still fighting for the nomination with a self-avowed socialist who isn’t even of the party he’s seeking the nomination for.
Hillary Clinton is an opportunist, plain and simple. The only thing is that she forgets she’ll have to answer for her opportunist statements sooner or later. Now that the time has come, she’s in deep trouble.
