24-year-old Montavis Keller was charged with four felonies after a high speed chase. One of the officers who apprehended him put a little extra gravy on the potatoes and gave Keller a very slight verbal and physical reminder to stop committing crime.
It’s reported that Keller almost ran over the officer, so the officer was extremely agitated and had a huge rush of adrenaline surging through his body as he was probably very glad to not be ran over by a criminal.
The officer, Adam Wittmayer, tugged on Keller’s dreadlocks a few times and called him a few first grade names. Nothing major. It’s not like he called the guy a six letter word that rhymes with trigger or suggest he hop on a pirate ship back to Africa.
Watch and tell us what you think.
Conservative Tribune – As reported by The Associated Press, officer Adam Wittmayer repeatedly yanked Keller’s dreadlocks while calling him an “idiot” and “moron” for having almost run him over moments prior. He also struck his head.
For this unnecessary display of violence, Wittmayer wound up receiving a “significant” punishment, according to Waterloo Police Chief Daniel Trelka, who refused to reveal the exact nature of the sanction.
However, Assistant Attorney General Scott D. Brown reportedly declined to follow suit by seeking criminal charges against Wittmayer, claiming that jurors would understand why the officer had been so “understandably agitated” that he did this
In all honesty, the criminal is a moron and an idiot. He’s both. He’s arrested with drugs in a high speed chase. That’s grounds for calling someone an idiot.
He’s also dressed in pajama pants. What respectable person wears those in public? No one! IDIOT!
I understand the officer was mad, but he may want to relax on the hair pulling. Once the bad guy is under arrest and cuffed, just let it go. Don’t risk your job for a few hair pulls on the dreads. Now if the suspect trips over a blade of grass and catches a butt whipping on the way down, that’s understandable.
It happens, right?
It’s hard to feel bad for someone who just got arrested for four felonies.
Maybe cops should be required to smack around anyone wearing pajama pants in public.
