Trey Gowdy has been a major thorn in the sides of Democrats, and especially Hillary Clinton. He relentlessly pursued the truth regarding the Benghazi terrorist attack, and the Obama administration’s cover-up. He challenged FBI Director James Comey for blindly supporting Hillary Clinton at the expense of justice. And now, he’s just been rewarded with a new job.
Gowdy has been named to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, which means he will be overseeing United States intelligence. “Protecting the safety and security of our fellow citizens is the preeminent function of government. When it comes to our national security, we cannot afford to take risks. The House Intelligence Committee plays a vital role in protecting Americans both at home and abroad through conducting thorough oversight of our nation’s intelligence agencies,” he said in a statement.
“I look forward to joining the House Intelligence Committee and working with Chairman Nunes and my colleagues to ensure national security remains the top priority in the 115th Congress.”
Gowdy will be the first person from South Carolina to serve on the intelligence committee. But that won’t be the only place he will be working. He will also be serving on three other committees: ethics, oversight, and government reform and judiciary.
Do you think Gowdy is the right person for the job?
